Here we have a second phrase of groups of five notes inspired by the one and only Kurt Rosenwinkel. Odd groups of notes to me are always an interesting sound not only rhythmically, but melodically as well. It’s not every day we hear odd groupings, so I think it’s a great way to add some uniqueness and flavor to your playing. I’ve also included some other information about where the “lick” came from, so you can hopefully create something of your own. The idea is to hopefully become inspired by these ideas and then try and create something of your own. Being an individual and finding your own voice is extremely important in the world of improvisational music so be patient and try your best to come up with your own ideas.
