Here I simply break down each and every chord to the Bossa Nova classic How Insensitive by Antonio Carlos Jobim. This is one of my favorite songs of all time and you can find the chords taught here in countless other songs. Even I will admit that this lesson can seem a bit long, but I just recommend starting by learning a few chords. If the material in this lesson is completely new to you just go slow and be patient. Learn two new chords a day and in one week or so you’ll have every chord in this tune under your fingers. If you would like some information on how to do two basic Bossa Nova comping patterns please take a look at Lesson 21: Two Basic Bossa Nova Comping Patterns. Once you feel like you have all the chords and rhythms under your fingers you can test yourself by playing along with me and a metronome here at Lesson 23: How Insensitive Part II. Remember to stay calm and relaxed when playing Bossa Nova. This music is all about a nice easy groove and a beautiful melody on top. I hope you enjoy it!
