MICHAEL MCCLINTOCK
Multi-instrumentalist, composer, and music instructor, born in Neosho, Missouri, USA. Michael graduated from the University of Missouri Kansas City Music Conservatory with a Bachelor of Music in classical guitar performance in 2006. His post-studies were focused on Flamenco, Brazilian, and Jazz. In the last decade, he has become fully involved in Cuban music and the interpretation of the Cuban Tres.
Each one of his phonograms takes us to a magnificent promenade. His very distinctive interpretation of the Cuban Tres (native Cuban guitar), and his introduction of the instrument to different styles of music, have made Michael stand out as one of the foreign Treseros, with more recognition in Cuba and around the world.
With his band Cubanisms, where Michael directs and performs with the Cuban Tres, the group has had incredible recognition over their musical career and discography, opening the doors for the band to perform in the most important Jazz Festival in Latin America, the “Jazz Plaza Festival in Cuba”. The albums of the band have received great compliments from Cuba, Colombia, and the USA, “Top 10 albums of 2017”, “finally an artist thinking outside of the box”…
